XL 101 Minoan Light
The installation is named after what archeologists called the room (XL 101) in which they discovered the Bronze-age clay disk from the Minoan palace of Phaistos. Illuminated renditions of the each side of the famous disk of Phaistos form the wheels of a racing bike. The handlebars double as the Minotaur’s horns while the ash-like color of the bike’s frame evokes charred archeological ruins.
