The Anasa Luxury Resort 5* is located at Paralia Elaiochoriou, in the region of Kavala. The surrounding environment offers a combination of unobstructed sea views, rough terrain and pristine forest. The hotel creates a sanctuary for the traveler in order for him to connect with nature. The architectural concept is based on respecting nature.
The goal for us was to create a safe haven for body and soul in harmony with the surroundings. The resort sits on top of a steep rock overlooking the Aegean Sea and the forest. From the entrance point until the verge of the steep rock, visitors are led through a familiarization process with the space. There is a small water surface before the lobby area. There is a sequence of open and sheltered lobby areas that constitute the course until the edge of the rock and the infinity pool. The configuration of the spaces leads to the infinity pool that is integrated in the rough terrain. All flora is inspired by the Mediterreanean nature thus creating a welcoming scenery for relaxation. Configurations and flora build small scale outdoor private corners incorporated in the terrain.
In terms of means of implementation of the architectural concept natural materials and earthy tones are used, that are inspired by the rough terrain and the sandy beach. The natural light flux of the site became the inspiration behind the use of linear downlights in indoor and outdoor spaces. The unobstructed sea view is a key ingredient of the hotel’s environment. This is the reason why the element is repeatedly used by means of the multi layered infinity pool, the water surfaces and water routes throughout the site.
A special feature of this project is the vertical connection of the elevator, from the level of the plot to the level of the sea. This connection, beyond the client's desire, was a defining element of the design.
The design proposal, concerning the existing architectural shell, is characterized by the use of distinctive patterns that reinforce the privacy of the residents and create a shelter. As far as the interior design is concerned natural earthy tones are used also, in order to create a uniform environment inside out. The rooms consist of a dipole: on one hand there is the bathroom area that is inspired by the rocky scenery and on the other hand there is the relaxation area inspired by the sandy beach.
There is a private pool ensuite the veranda wherever possible, thus connecting the private areas with the water element. The hospitality experience is completed by the extra amenities in the common areas of the building. The gym, the spa and the nail salon take care of the travelers’ body. The restaurant that nourishes the travelers’ body is complimented by a large outdoor area overlooking the infinity pool and the sea.
