Construction: eleven constructions
In an existing unfinished shell which includes an old traditional house, on a plot of 1.072,00 sq.m., the HOM Hotel is developed on 4 levels that can also be served by a shared elevator that connects the three levels, including 13 suites, reception, restaurant-bar and a pool.
All of the suites have their own independent balcony and a jacuzzi. With view to the sea and to Thirasia, providing privacy to the tenants.
The entrance from the street is on the higher level. The reception is placed on the first level, the pool and the bar-restaurant on the second level, with the suites divided: 2 on the first level, 2 on the second, 7 on the third and 2 more on the fourth.
Construction description:
In every space of the hotel, there was a full reconstruction that refers to all the types of construction work.
There have been modifications on the existing openings, additions and augmentations of the exterior spaces for the better exploitation of the orientation and the view.
In more detail in the suites were placed:
- Wooden-thermal insulating- frames and thermal insulating glass.
- False ceiling from plasterboard.
- Coating from white color stone.
- Final coating of the interior walls from cement mortar in grey color.
- All the furnishing constructed by oak in dark color in combination with reeds of similar color.
- A combination of tile and cement mortar on the walls and the ceiling of the baths. The flooring constructed with tiles and pebbles.
- There was an effort for the lighting proposal to create a relaxed atmosphere with some pointing intensities where required.
On the restaurant were placed:
- Coatings from black color stone and mat on the internal walls.
- Combination of chestnut wood beams and reeds on the ceilings.
- Coating of marquina marble on the bar counter.
- Flooring from mosaic style tiles in grey color.
Exterior:
- Wall finishing from cement mortar in grey color.
- Visible Santorini stone and stone in grey color.
- Flooring from mosaic style tiles in grey color.
- Planting, pebbles in grey and black color complete, with the furnishing from natural materials, the exterior spaces.
On the balconies were placed:
- Deck in dark grey color
- Jacuzzi
The space of the Hotel’s reception is placed in a part of an existing underground traditional house:
- Coating for the counter of travertino marble.
- Coating of the wall with reeds on black color.
- Furnitures from oak wood in black color.
There were used architectural elements and materials that connect with the local architecture and all the interventions were made with respect to the natural environment.
