The Gea Elaia Hotel is located in Neapoli of Vion, an area near Elafonisos and the castle town of Monemvasia. Its construction began in 2013.
Gea Elaia is a 28-room, 3-floored hotel with classical styling and located on the coastal road of Naples. The ground floor includes the reception and an ala carte restaurant also used for the breakfast. The hotel’s rooms are on the 2 upper floors, while the basement is used for auxiliary purposes.
During construction, the proximity to the sea resulted to the presence of water on the base of the building. The increased cost needed to override the problem led to a slightly smaller budgeting for the decorative materials.
The exterior view of the main building uses special materials and carefully selected color combinations; decorative bricks, stainless steel railings with glass handrails and glass were used. The rooms combine wooden elements with geometric shapes and their coloring is based on those found at the surrounding environment (blue of the sea & olive green).
The project was co-financed by the 3299/2004 development plan. The Greek capital controls in 2015 froze the construction for a small period. The project was finally completed in early 2019 with a final net completion time of 3 years. The total cost exceeded 3 million Euros and the construction was led by the technical company D. ZACHARIADIS IKE.
