Aloe Boutique & Suites 5 * is located in the seaside village of Almyrida, in the Municipality of Apokoronas in Chania, Crete. On a sloping land of 3,158.00 m², a hotel unit, of total construction 3,387.80m² in main and auxiliary spaces, is being developed, as well as 214.00 sq.m. water surface, with unobstructed views of the sea and direct access to the beach. The hotel complex consists of 130 beds, swimming pools, restaurant, bar, hydrotherapy area (spa), wellness center as well as fitness center.
The building blends gently into the natural environment as it grows staggered through a set of volumes that make up the hotel's individual spaces. The four independent modules (wings) of the hotel complex occupy the edges of the plot, creating the largest possible free space in the middle, where the pool and the pool bar occupy a dominant position in such a way as to create visual continuity with the sea. The orientation of the plot and the design of the hotel to North and West allows for unobstructed views of all the rooms to the sea.
The main building is located on the North side of the plot and is the main entrance to the hotel complex, housing the reception, the restaurant - breakfast area and auxiliary areas in the basement. It consists of two floors with strong linear elements on the sheltered entrance. Almost the entire facade consists of glazing in the whole height with the purpose of, during the entrance of the visitors but mainly during their stay in the space, creating a visual comfort, with unobstructed view to the sea.
Below the Eastern Building are located common facilities such as spa, wellness center and gym, while in the other two-storey buildings, with attics and lofts, are placed all the hotel rooms.
Elements such as natural stone on the exterior, the use of titanium zinc panels, covering the sloping roofs, and the gray and white tones of color, underline the style of the complex. Particular attention has been paid to the planting of the surrounding area and the pool, aiming at the aesthetic upgrading of the hotel, in harmony with the existing vegetation of the area, the creation of privacy and a pleasant microclimate, with shading and absorption of strong winds.
Inside, the small-scale design combined with modern materials and electromechanical facilities create comfortable spaces, helping to create a pleasant stay for all the guests. With the aim of our building’s high energy efficiency (A +), renewable energy and measures were implemented to reduce energy consumption.
